Jim earned his Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas and recently received his 50-year Certificate from the Board. He has served as the Interim Director for the Board of Pharmacy twice during his 20+ years of service to the Board. Prior to that, Jim worked in the role of pharmacist, manager, chief pharmacist, and owner in the retail, hospital, and independent pharmacy settings. Jim is a commissioned officer of the FDA, serves on the Board of Directors for Shawnee County Health Agency, is a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Melissa has been with the Board for over 15 years. She is a native of Haviland, Kansas and received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Fort Hays State University. Before coming to the Board of Pharmacy, she worked for a national chain pharmacy in several different pharmacy roles. Melissa worked as a pharmacy technician thru college and beyond. In addition, she has trained pharmacists and pharmacy staff on a proprietary pharmacy software application throughout the Midwest region. She provided training for new hires and retraining and support for pharmacists and pharmacy staff within the district she was assigned. She has recently completed specialized training in USP <797> from CriticalPoint.
Melissa is credentialed as a CLEAR National Certified Investigator/Inspector, and earned her Certification in Sterile Compounding for Inspectors (CISCI).

Kayla is the newest Board inspector and is a Western Kansas native. She holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Barton County Community College. Kayla worked in law enforcement for over six years, and she is a Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB with over six years of experience in the hospital and retail pharmacy settings. Kayla recently completed her USP <797> specialized training and certification with CriticalPoint, and earned her Certificate in Sterile Compounding for Inspectors (CISCI). She is also a Commissioned Officer for the FDA. Kayla was most recently an assistant manager for a national retail pharmacy chain.

Shelley is licensed as a registered pharmacist in Kansas with over 20 years of experience in both independent retail and hospital pharmacy settings. Shelley is a commissioned officer with the FDA, holds a Certificate in Sterile Compounding for Inspectors (CISCI), and is a CLEAR Nationally Certified Investigator & Inspector.
