Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an effective method for treating opioid use disorder (OUD). Access to the treatment is expanding in Kansas as more practitioners become certified to treat patients with a combination of behavioral therapy, counseling and medication.
Treatment goals range from harm reduction of ongoing use to sustained recovery with abstinence from all substances.
